Parents as Partners
At Stoke St Michael Primary School we value parents as an essential part of our school community.
Parents are welcomed into the school and assist in a number of roles:
- Parents listen to readers and help in class.
- Parents help us to develop our grounds and resources.
- Parents run our school PTA and raise vital funds for the children.
The PTA works with the school to raise money, without them the life of the school would be immeasurably poorer.
This year’s PTA committee is as follows:
Chair: Lucy Stott
Vice Chair: Sam Carver
Secretary: Lizzy Rice
Treasurer: Charlotte Corbett
The PTA organise many events throughout the year. They are always looking for new ideas and volunteers! You don’t need to be a parent or a teacher, just someone who is interested in helping out in some way. If you would like to help, please contact the school office or a member of the PTA.
Reading With Confidence
At Stoke St. Michael Primary School we are passionate about reading! As we settle back into a new term after an extended break, we are focussing on giving all children the chance to excel as they continue on their reading journey. To achieve this Mrs. Vincent has found a fantastic new reading scheme which will take the children through their reading journey, from learning phonics in Reception to a range of exciting stories and non-fiction books as they progress through the school.
As so many fundraising events were cancelled before the summer, we need your help to achieve our goal of raising £500 to buy the first sets of books. Please go to our fundraising page at GoFundMe by clicking on the link below and if you are able make a donation to this excellent cause.
