Gravity Experiment

Oak class conducting an experiment to test the falling speed of various falling objects.

This week, Oak Class worked out how to conduct a fair test during their investigation of the effect of gravity on the speed of different falling objects.

They decided one person in each group should drop all the objects from the same height and one person should use the timer to avoid variation.

They measured the time it took for objects of different weight to fall to the ground and recorded their results in a table with their predictions. They discovered that all the objects fell to the ground within a few seconds but that the flat piece of paper took longer. They discussed what might cause this difference and decided that it was the air pushing up the paper from below because the paper was so light.

Well done Oaks! Super scientific research!
