Anglo-Saxon Day

Oaks and Owl class Anglo-Saxon Day!

In the morning, the children loved their cooking. They prepared a Saxon vegetable potage as well as Anglo-Saxon honey and oat cakes followed by non-alcoholic mead.

There was a real buzz in the room as the two mixed age classes joined together and used their Topaz Power to team create a delicious feast.

In the afternoon, the children delighted in dressing up in their wonderful period costumes before entering the now 'Mead Hall' for music, entertainment and fine food! The children relished the opportunity to perform speeches and join in with jeering and cheering as characters from their class text: Beowulf came alive.

What a wonderful day. The children truly engaged in and enjoyed the whole experience.

Thank you to family members for supporting the pupils with their costumes and drama!
