Year 6 Leavers' Service 'A Big Step'

Conker's celebrate their Year 6 leavers'.

On Tuesday of this week Conkers class went up to the field to celebrate our Year 6 leavers'. Rev Chris led proceedings and guided the Year 6's through a reflective labyrinth exercise, the children left stones representing the challenges of this extraordinary year in the centre of the maze and were in encouraged to look positively to the future.

The class sang 'One more step along the road my friend':

'Give me courage when the world is rough,
Keep me loving though the world is tough;
Leap and sing in all I do,
Keep me travelling along with you:
And it's from the old I travel to the new;
Keep me travelling along with you.'

The children were able to identify the 'You' in the song as God and Rev Chris explained that Christians believe that God is with us for every step of life's journey, the small ones, the big ones, the easy ones and the challenging ones. Rev Chris also gave each child a bible, a gift from the church, explaining that it can act as a guide or 'Sat Nav' through life's journey

The children shared their memories and reflections of their time at Croscombe and were really thankful to all the staff who had been with them every step. Mrs Amor, Mrs Halsted and Mr Moore were touched by their considerate words.

The class finished with 'This is our leavers' song' and finally Rev Chris blessed all those gathered.

We wish our Year 6's all the best as they begin a new chapter and want to express our pride in them.
