Authors Visit
Inspiring our budding writers!
The virtual visit with author Jasbinder Bilan inspired our years five & six and lead to this excellent write up by Indi...
We had a video meeting with Jasbinder Bilan, an incredible author from India. When we met her she was really informative and gave us lots of tips and tricks to being a successful writer.
Jasbinder Bilan was born on a farm in the Himalayas and lived there until she was eighteen months old. She lived with her parents and extended family. They also had a monkey who adopted the family and always ran off to the neem tree with Jasbinder’s older brother.
When she was one and a half her family moved to Nottingham where Jasbinder discovered her love of writing.
We had a fantastic time when we met Jasbinder. We asked her questions about how she became a writer. The Owls (Stoke St Michaels year 5 and 6 class) and the Conkers (Croscombe Primary year 5 and 6 class) all had intriguing questions about her life and the inspiration for the story.
“We all had a great time! I enjoyed talking to Jasbinder!”
(Breanna. Year6)
“ I was excited because I met my first new author. She gave us loads of cool writing tips and tricks!”
(Rohan Year5)
“Jasbinder was really nice and I love her book.”
(Charlotte Year5)
So all in all, it was a fantastic visit and an incredible meeting with this new and fabulous author!
