Hay Box Cooking. Step 2.

Will hay be a good insulator?

Next, we mixed the vegetables with some stock and brought the ingredients to the boil on the conventional hob.
After that, the saucepans were placed in a bed of hay or shredded paper then packed tightly with even more of the insulating materials.  A lid was then put on all three of the boxes which were then left for about four and a half hours.

Will the vegetables actually cook?  Will the soup be hot, warm or even cold?  What will it taste like?  We hypothesized which box would prove to be best at possibly cooking the vegetables and which material would be the best insulator.
